Bannon’s Exit Is A Step In The Right Direction For Trump Administration

08/18/2017 Published on Forbes.com
This afternoon, the White House announced that today will be chief strategist and senior adviser Steve Bannon’s final day on the job.

This hardly comes as a surprise to me and frankly, is a wise move by President Trump.

However, Charlottesville was not the only reason for President Trump to push Mr. Bannon out of his role.

Since Mr. Bannon joined the administration, he has managed to start serious rivalries among his White House colleagues, and his influence has notably declined in recent weeks.

Yesterday, Mr. Bannon made his frustrations know in an interview with The American Prospect—not only did he say that his colleagues in the White House are “wetting themselves” because Bannon planned to push them out.

On North Korea, Mr. Bannon directly contradicted the President’s messages of “fire and fury,” by instead calling the President’s bluff stating, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s no military solution here, they got us.”

This interview was evidently the final straw. In fact, numerous reports indicate that Mr. Bannon’s removal is overdue, and that he was supposed to be ousted weeks ago.
