I’ve written about the plight of U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi here at Fox News. He’s being falsely imprisoned by our “friend” and neighbor Mexico. He’s been mistreated, beaten and some would say tortured. ;
Isn’t it time President Obama did something? Isn’t it time for the president of the United States to send a message, man-to-man, to the president of Mexico?
I’ve already suggested what should be done. Assuming Obama will never threaten the use of force (100,000 angry U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton), I also have a peaceful solution for Mr. Obama. He needs to announce that starting tomorrow our border with Mexico is closed. No one is going to or from Mexico. All business with Mexico is cancelled until our Marine hero is returned.
Isn’t it time for the president of the United States to send a message, man-to-man, to the president of Mexico?
That goes for vacationers too. From this moment on all Americans will be asked to cancel their vacations to Mexico. Good luck to Cabo, Acapulco and Cancun. Everyone can switch to Hawaii or the Caribbean.
Let’s make a wager on how quick Sgt. Tahmooressi is returned. I’ll guess 12 hours or less.
Now there is one problem with my suggestion. Our esteemed commander in chief seems to lack the resolve to save one of his soldiers who willingly (and honorably) fought for this country. He’s too busy swapping the “terrorist dream team” in order to save a soldier who is considered by some military leaders to be a traitor. ;
So let’s assume the border will never be closed by Obama. After all, an act that bold might actually offend the Mexican prison guards who kicked our Marine hero in the ribs while he was chained by his wrists and ankles to a filthy bed. That might offend the Mexican prison doctors who withheld food and water from him.
But if Obama won’t get involved, let’s move onto more realistic solutions. Given the fact that America is still a Republic, with a Constitution that protects States’ Rights, it’s time for our border state Republican governors to take a stand.
The governors of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico may not have the right to close the border, but they can greatly increase the odds of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi’s release by setting up an “Agricultural Check-point” one block from every border crossing. They can staff the check point with ONE very slow working agent who must thoroughly inspect every vehicle that passes through. That inspection agent should be ordered to ask every driver coming from Mexico to step out of the vehicle to be hand searched. He should be encouraged to check pockets for seeds that do not meet United States agricultural standards. Each search should be exceedingly S-L-O-W.
Within hours the backup will stretch to Mexico City and we can all be assured that our hero Marine will be freed.
Rick Perry are you listening? Jan Brewer? Susana Martinez? This is your chance to show how a Republican leader defends and protects the citizens of the United States.
And just in case there is still any question about our resolve in freeing our hero Marine…any Mexican national crossing the border who so much as argues or complains about the agricultural inspection will be sent to one of Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s outdoor jails in Phoenix for resisting an officer of the law, until our hero Marine is sent home. I hear those outdoor prisons are quite lovely in the Phoenix summer sun.
In the meantime I implore all of the readers at Fox News to call your Congressman and Senators to demand the immediate release of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi.
Hang on Sargeant Tahmooressi, America is coming!
